The Clubhouse/Pool/Tennis Court Maintenance Committee is charged with the upkeep of these common facilities.

They identify problems and implement solutions. In the case of urgent issues, such as a torn tennis net or broken plumbing, the Manager is notified and repairs are immediately made. For longer term issues, such as resurfacing the tennis court or repainting the clubhouse, the funding requirement is placed in the next budget.

This committee works closely with the Landscaping and Grounds Maintenence and Finance committees, as well as the community Management.

The Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Committee is charged with the upkeep of these common areas of our community.

This includes the grass, flower beds, trees, walking paths, irrigation and decorative lighting. They identify problems and implement solutions. In the case of urgent issues, such as a downed tree or malfunctioning sprinkler, the Manager is notified and repairs are immediately made. For longer term issues, such as rebuilding bridges along the walking paths or erecting new village entrance signs, the funding requirement is placed in the next budget.

Col. Graham is also responsible for overseeing the on-going maintenace work on the property by the various contractors as well as the clubhouse rentals.

This committee works closely with the Clubhouse/Pool/Tennis Court Maintenance and Finance committees, as well as the community Management.

The Security Committee oversees all aspects of our Community's security needs, including liaison with the Ridgeland Police and Fire Departments, Neighborhood Watch and similar programs, the North gate and South guard station, selection and supervision of the guard service, and any other security issue that may arise.

The Covenants and Architecture Committee enforces the Dinsmor covenants and approves plans for new dwellings and additions to existing dwellings.

If any community member observes any behavior that violates the covenants, please call one of the committee members listed above or the Property Manager.

Finance Committee Charter

Oversee the financial transactions of the Association

  • Prepare an annual budget
  • Provide long term financial planning

The finance committee was originally formed because the former management was unable to responsibly carry out these functions. The current manager, Ridgway Lane and Associates, is eminently qualified, experienced and responsible in this respect, and the finance committee has therefore been fairly inactive. As chairman, I provide an annual report which perhaps puts a different "spin" or interpretation of the data, but the Board and I and Ridgway Lane have generally seen eye to eye on all financial issues.

Our general financial strategy uses a fiscally conservative approach with the following priorities:

  • maintain the clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, walking paths and other common areas to a standard that protects our property values;
  • respond to safety and security issues in a cost-effective manner;
  • provide for long-term financial solvency;
  • continually look for cost reduction initiatives;
  • increase annual assessments only as a last resort.
